Open up your daily paper these days and
you'll probably find an article about how someone has been
injured while in the care of those who were supposed to help
them heal. Machines that monitor vital functions have not
been turned on.
A nurse has accidentally administered the
wrong medication. Someone has contracted a life-threatening
bacterial infection because health care professionals didn't
wear gloves or other protective gear.
In these cases patients are entitled to
bring a medical malpractice case against doctors and/or hospitals.
Successful claims depend on the ability to prove that your
injury was the result of someone else's carelessness.
As with most cases, it is important that
you talk with an attorney as soon as possible following your
injury. It helps if you can remember details, dates, names,
medications given, types of treatment, etc.
